So whats the case you might ask? Well as I wrote my article about how to write a Winlogon Nofication Packages, I often noticed in the C examples I found on the net, that those examples made use of SafeTerminateProcess so I wondered what this call stands for and why they use it.

What is that? MSDN say’s: A Winlogon Notification Package is a DLL that exports functions that handle Winlogon events. For example, when a user logs onto the system, Winlogon calls each notification package’s logon event handler function to provide information about the event.
